Basic Accident & Sickness Insurance  


Insurance & Help Line

Each International Identity Card purchased in the U.S. provides basic accident and sickness insurance for travel outside of the United States (regardless of cardholder citizenship). Coverage includes: hospital stays, accident medical expense, emergency evacuation, accidental death and dismemberment, repatriation of remains, passport protection, baggage delay insurance and a 24-hour, toll-free Help Line.

What does ISIC insurance coverage include?

$100 Baggage Delay
• Reimburses for the purchase of essential items if your bags are delayed for more than 24 hours (only while traveling outside of the United States.)
 
$165 per day Sickness/Hospital Benefit (up to 61 days)
• Reimburses $100 per day up to 60 days for hospital costs due to sickness.

$500 Lost Document Replacement (includes your ISIC card)
• Reimburses the direct loss due to loss of the Insured's passport during the Insured's trip.

$25,000 Accident Medical Expense (Includes $500 Emergency Dental Coverage)
• No daily limits or deductibles.
• Reimburses for doctor, hospital, ambulance services and prescription medication. Initial treatment must be received during trip.
• Reimburses for accident emergency dental expenses while on your trip.

$5,000 Air Accidental Death & Dismemberment
• Covers death and loss of limb or eyesight while riding on a regularly scheduled airline within 180 days of an accident.

$1,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment - All Other
• Covers death and loss of limb or eyesight within 180 days of an accident.

$25,000 Repatriation of Remains
• In the event of death while traveling, reimburses the reasonable covered expenses incurred to return your body to the United States.

$300,000 Emergency Evacuation
• Reimburses for evacuation to nearest adequate medical facility.
• Reimburses up to $5,000 for medical escort.

Access to 24-Hour Emergency Help Line
• Advancement of funds to cover on-site medical expenses.
• Telephone interpretation services in major languages.
• Replacement of lost passport and other incidentals as may be required.
• Assistance to locate local physicians, dentists, or medical facilities.
• Monitoring your condition by a professional and contacting your personal physician.
• Evacuation to a hospital, treatment facility or back home.
• 24-hour emergency hotline.
• Pre-trip medical advisories.
• Provide claim forms and certificates.


How do I file a claim?

The coverage provided with each card is based on a reimbusement system. You will need to keep a record of all medical bills and receipts, which should be submitted along with a completed claim form and a copy of your International Identity Card. All incidents must be reported within 90 days, or your claim benefits may not be paid. Covered expenses will be reimbursed for up to one year from the date of injury.
